This unconventional zoo book is all about the animals. Large, colorful, and impressive, they leap from the pages while the zoo itself is referenced only minimally at the beginning and end of the book. In fact one senses a slight disdain on Munari's part for the zoo where animals are caged. The beautiful illustrations which are larger than life and the delightful descriptions make this a very entertaining book that also importantly conveys a sense of respect for the animals. Another outstanding Munari classic.
