Bruno Munari (b. 1907 - d. 1998, Milan) was a multifaceted artist and one of the most influential designers of the 20th century. He was linked to Marinetti's Futurism, was one of the founders of the Italian Concrete Art movement, and developed work in virtually every field of the visual arts (painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic and industrial design, cinema), as well as in poetry and literature.
From the 1940s onwards, Munari became increasingly interested in creating books for children, proposing approaches that revolutionized the history of editorial design and illustration. Examples include the use of materials and printing techniques - such as different types of paper, tactile surfaces or cut-outs - that brought a new reading experience, calling on the importance of touch, movement and color.
