Orfeu Negro is a publishing house dedicated to publishing essays in the field of contemporary arts, founded in 2007 by Carla Oliveira. In 2008 the publisher created Orfeu Mini, a collection of illustrated books for children and young people, which has become a national and international reference in children's book publishing. It feautures many highly acclaimed foreign authors such as Oliver Jeffers, Jon Klassen, Carson Ellis, Chris Haughton, and Beatrice Alemagna. Among the Portuguese authors present in the catalog are names like Catarina Sobral, Carolina Celas, Mariana Malhão and Madalena Moniz. The publishing house is based in Lisbon, Portugal.
