Madalena Matoso is a co-founder and resident author at Planeta Tangerina publishing house. Her widely admired work is characterized by an experimental and exploratory approach. She works in an open and diverse range of styles and often incorporates photography and typography.

She received the National Illustration Award in 2008 and 2018; the Amadora Comic Book Festival Children's Book Illustration Award in 2008 and 2011 and the SPA Author Award / Children's Book in 2015. She was selected for the exhibition of the International Children's Book Fair / Bologna 2018.
