Inês Viegas Oliveira was born in Tavira. She has a BA in Physics and a postgraduate degree in Illustration. She was part of the European project Every Story Matters which promotes inclusion through stories and books. From this project came her first book, The Duel, published in 2022 by Planeta Tangerina. In 2020, 2022 and 2023 she was selected for the Illustrators Exhibition of the Bologna Children's Book Fair. She was awarded the 2023 National Illustration Prize.
