Frouch is the story of a mother, with a baby on her back, who buys an egg to make a cake, which she puts in the oven before falling asleep.

It is also the story of the burning cake, the baby who wakes up, and a host of characters, human and animal, who, throughout the book, ring the bell, comment, react, making hihan, ouaf, cui-cui, cling and zzzzz.
