Carson Ellis is an author and illustrator of books for children. She is the author of Home and Du Iz Tak?, a Caldecott Honor and E.B. White Read Aloud Award winner that is written in an invented language (that of insects). In addition to her solo books, Ellis illustrates books by other authors, is responsible for the artwork of the band The Decemberists, and collaborates with publications such as The New Yorker and The New York Times. She lives on a farm in Oregon with her family.
