The streets of Milan are represented by black illustrations printed on parchment paper. As we leaf through them they impart a feeling of movement through the overlapping landscape. Suddenly the pages are thicker, opaque and colorful, giving us the sensation of having arrived, the illustrations and cut outs transmit the movement and excitement.
The first edition was printed in 1968. The reader, adult or child, is completely involved and enters actively into the story through a series of pictures and prompts created by using different types of pierced and perforated paper. A journey through the milky opacity of Milan's fog, an introduction to the lively world of the circus.
